Introduction

Hello my name is Charlie Schendl. I am a rising junior business major here at Clemson. However, I am still unsure of what I want to do as a career later in life. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and being from the South I was brought up to always be polite and respectful towards women. I am taking this class because I recently gained an interest in feminism and have noticed at least through social media that most of these so called feminists tend to be close minded and ignorant when it comes to a lot of these issues regarding gender and will throw out any opposing argument just because am "white, straight, cisgendered male" that needs to "check my privilege." I am hoping however that this class will be a much more formal environment where I can learn more about the non radical forms of feminism and participate in civilized discussions about the topic.
